Industries Served

Pass an ISO Manufacturer Calibration Audit

In order for a manufacturer to pass an ISO calibration audit, they must demonstrate that they have firm controls in place for the management, additions, and subtractions of their comprehensive equipment list. Utilize MQC and our quality assurance programs, accreditations and proprietary calibration software as a resource to make sure that you not only meet, but exceed, ISO requirements. MQC not only helps customers create accurate, comprehensive recall lists, but also notifies customers monthly about equipment past due, equipment due in the next 30 days, and equipment due the following month. We make sure that you have complete control in order to better manage your precision measurement test equipment, ensure 100% conformity, and minimize costly downtime. All of this information is also available at any time by simply accessing our web portal, and entering your customer number and password.

It’s easy to stay up-to-date on extensive measurement equipment calibration information about your instruments:

  • 24/7 Access to Certificates
  • 24/7 Access to Equipment Lists
  • 24/7 Access to Recall Reports
  • 24/7 Access to Calibration Data on your Equipment
  • And more!

MQC goes one step further and assigns each precision measurement test instrument a barcode number and instrument I.D. Our customers can better track equipment history and easily identify model number, serial number, asset number, and even location.

Proper Recall / Calibration Cycles

The most common questions we receive from our customers are about how long they should wait to calibrate their equipment and the risks of extending their calibration cycles. You should never view accurate calibration as just a necessary annoyance or perform calibrations simply to pass an audit.Out of tolerance instruments may:

  • Give false information leading to unreliable products
  • Lead to production delays
  • Create customer dissatisfaction
  • Cause good products to fail tests
  • Require unnecessary rework

All at significant costs to your business!

The answers to our customers’ most commonly asked questions will vary with each instruments’ accuracy requirements, frequency of use, manufacturer recommendations, contracts, regulation, and environmental factors. If you want a qualified opinion on this matter, please inquire with one of our calibration experts.

Definition of Calibration

What is calibration? Calibration is a comparison between the measurements of one device with an established magnitude or correctness known as the “Standard” and a second device known as the test instrument. The Standard is often no less than four times the accuracy of the test instrument that it is calibrating. Once the test instrument is calibrated and deemed within tolerance, the item needs to be able to “hold the calibration” when used in the stated environmental conditions over a reasonable amount of time dictated by usage or manufacture specifications.

A standard calibration does not include adjustment/adjustments to make a test instrument more accurate. Adjustments and repairs should be handled by an experienced technician. At MQC, all of our adjustments and repairs are handled by our Original Equipment Manufacturer (“OEM”) trained technicians. Our knowledgeable experts can handle all of your calibration needs, including scale calibration, pipette calibration, and torque wrench calibration.

Did you know that MQC is among the very few Metrology Laboratories that have the ability to repair any instrument we calibrate to the component level and certify to Manufacturer, Federal, Military and Industrial specifications?

Internal vs. External Calibration

Let MQC be your calibration, repair, inspection, and testing house. Creating and maintaining an internal calibration house can be cost prohibitive and time consuming:

  • Cost of purchasing and maintaining standards
  • Cost of accreditations
  • Developing quality procedures
  • Additional resources (management and technicians)
    • Training
    • Productivity
    • Not the core competency / distraction from business

Leave it to the specialists. Let us help you improve profitability and conform to ISO requirements while delivering the highest quality service, unparalleled capabilities, documentation control, and exceptional customer service.
